There’s a new kid on the block in Little Havana and he goes by the name Hemmingway, Ernest Hemmingway. Okay, so maybe that’s not completely true but hear me out.

Sala’o Cuban Bar & Pescaria has planted roots on Miami’s iconic 8th Street bringing us authentic, Cuban seafood dishes with a modern twist and some serious Ernest Hemingway vibes. Dark woods, rustic finishes, memorabilia form the early 1900’s and images of Hemminway cover ever inch of this eatery conceptualized by Eliesteban Mena and Oscar Rodriguez that pays homage to the late American writer.

The menu by Cuban Chef Jorge Mas is composed of a variety of seafood dishes such as Mahi Mahi Tradito, Fish Croquettes, and the Cóctel de Ostiones Oysters Shot. You’ll find Salads, Sandwiches, and Chef’s dishes including a Curry Criollo with fried pieces of Swordfish, Pescado Frito, Charred Octopus, Vaca Frita, a Pollo “Güajiro” Half Roasted Chicken, and several entree portioned rice dishes.

Live music will have you tapping your feet,  moving in your seat and feeling like a tourist in your own city. Grab a seat at the bar Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for happy hour featuring signature takes on classic Cuban cocktails.
