Celebrate the land of the free because of the brave! Tale as old as time, you may want to steer clear of South Beach, any of the beaches actually. The massive amounts of people, the parking, it’s just a lil cray all the way around unless the party scene and crowds are your thing.. well, then more power to ya!
Fortunately there’s tons of local friendly events and things to do over the long weekend with lots of food and puppies involved.
Get out on the water
The Atlantic Ocean is on and poppin’ and it looks like we’re expecting gorgeous weather across the board.. AccuWeather even calls for ‘Abundant Sunshine’ on Monday. While even local beaches like Cranyon Park and Bill Baggs may be busy, rent a boat and head out to a Sandbar. I’ll likely be over at Nixon!
Go to a Food & Wine Festival
Saturday May 25th 1-9pm | Get ready to indulge at the Coconut Grove Food & Wine Festival. Experience the area’s top restaurants while sipping fine wine and spirits along with random activities like the wacky funny WAITERS RACE! Watch some of Miami’s fastest waiters run thru an obstacle course without spilling a drop. Take your Pup to participate in the Pet Contest. Trophies will be given out for Mutt and Master Look A Like: Best Dog Trick and Best Costume, Best of Show.
Host a BBQ
One of our favorite things about buying a house last year is having so much space to host our friends and family. Our house itself isn’t super big, but our backyard is wide open and great for kicking back and firing up the grill. Here’s a post with Backyard BBQ Themes. Or keep it simple with burgers and dogs, run to Publix for soda and beer and stop by Dollar Tree for paper plates! (No, I’m not cheap at all… what would make you think that?!)
